In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hoffman Law Firm has continued its longstanding tradition of painting the columns of its office pink.
Pink for prevention.
Pink for awareness.
Pink in honor of lives lost – and of those still fighting.
“I started this tradition the very first year I opened the firm,” says David Hoffman. “My friends and family have been affected by breast cancer, so this cause is especially close to my heart. I hope it also serves as a reminder to the public to get their screenings.”
According to the American Cancer Society, approximately one in eight American women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. That translates to an estimated 276,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 42,170 deaths in 2020. Over 40,000 lives claimed – and families devastated.
But there’s hope. Studies show that from 2008 to 2017, death rates have declined by almost two percent each year. Increased awareness and screenings have contributed to this decline, with early detection playing a pivotal role. In fact, for those diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer, the 5-year survival rate is 98 to 100 percent!
Hoffman Law Firm is proud to do its part in raising awareness, adding the Susan G. Komen Foundation to a long list of organizations it supports. Over the years, Hoffman Law Firm has partnered with Darkness to Light, Camp Happy Days, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, the American Heart Association, Come Clean for Jae, Trident Literacy Association, Liberty Hill Improvement Council’s literacy program and most recently, Charleston Academy for Musical Theatre. Hoffman Law Firm also sponsors several local events, such as the annual Cinco de Mayo Festival and the Scottish Games.
Don’t forget to drive by and check out our pink columns! And ladies, schedule your screening today!
